How To: Use the LinkedIn plugin like a pro

Combining Teamleader with the LinkedIn plugin keeps your CRM up-to-date and helps you keep track of your business contacts.

Working for or running a company, chances are that you have a LinkedIn account that you use to keep track of interesting business contacts. But you’re probably using Teamleader for the same reason too.

Well, what if we tell you that you can use both of them perfectly together, instead of just next to each other?

A while ago, we’ve released our brand new LinkedIn plugin. This plugin - only available for Google Chrome - allows you to add contacts from LinkedIn directly to Teamleader - or keep existing contact information up-to-date, because the plugin also recognizes contacts that are already present in your Teamleader database.

To get even more out of this integration (and to save you a lot of manual work), there are three simple steps you need to take. Once this is done, you’ll be able to use both tools to the max.

Step 1: export your LinkedIn contacts

LinkedIn offers a way to export all of your connections at once. You can do so right here. LinkedIn will provide you with a CSV (Comma Separated Value) file, which is easily imported into Teamleader.

Step 2: import them into Teamleader

Once you have your exported file, you can import it into Teamleader. If this is the first time you import a batch of contacts, we recommend you read this blog first. It’ll save you some trouble later.

After you have successfully imported your LinkedIn contacts, you'll be able to find them in your CRM database.

Step 3: start using the plugin

Now that all of your LinkedIn connections are in Teamleader, they’ll be recognized when you’re browsing the social network site. If there’s been a change on someone’s profile, Teamleader will detect this and will ask you if you want to change/add the current information.

By the way, once you’ve linked or added a contact from LinkedIn to Teamleader, you’ll get to see a LinkedIn logo next to his or her name. This will take you directly to the contact’s profile page.

You can download the Google Chrome plugin here.

Note: this is the same plugin you can use to track incoming and outgoing emails to Teamleader.
